BlueSpice 5.2 was tested in November 2025 by the external accessibility service provider "Pfennigparade Foundation". As a result, the tested pages were classified as accessible according to the German BITV 2.0 which test for EN 301 549 V.3.2.1 (2021-03) conformity. As a result, BlueSpice 5.2 was awarded their "Optimized Accessibility BITV 2.0 12/2025" seal.

BlueSpice bundles approximately 200 MediaWiki and BlueSpice extensions. These are also continuously checked for accessibility. Barriers are reported to product development or forwarded to the developers of the affected MediaWiki extensions. These extensions are already partially compliant with EN 301 549 V.3.2.1 (2021-03).

PDF Export

PDF printing is not part of the BITV test requirements for BITV-Test / EN 301 549 (Web). However, internal product development places high demands on the accessible implementation of this function. Since BlueSpice 5, wiki pages have been exported to PDF using the extension PDFCreator developed by HalloWelt!. Generally, pages with less complex content are generated as accessible PDF documents. This applies particularly to the following content:

  • Section headings and the resulting table of contents
  • Unformatted body text
  • Images with alternative text
  • Tables with headers

More complex content should be avoided by the respective content managers of the page. If the content is required in the wiki, an instruction to Exclude this content in PDF export must be added to the page to ensure full accessibility of the PDF documents.

Creation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was revised on December 8, 2025.

The statement is based on the test results of the "Pfennigparade Foundation", as well as on ongoing systematic product testing and the continuous removal of barriers during product development.

Support for Content Creators

Users of BlueSpice should also be knowledgeable in creating accessible content. As a starting point, we recommend the W3C writing tips:
